Dear Second Grade Families,
As we begin the year we will also start a weekly tradition in our classroom. STUDENT OF THE WEEK! Throughout the year each student will be assigned a week to share with the class. (The schedule is to the right.) Student of the week is a special time for each student to practice their oral presentation skills as well as share things with their classmates that others may not know about them.
On the Friday before each student’s week, a sheet of poster paper will come home with your student. During the weekend it is that students job to create a poster about themselves. The poster may have pictures, drawings, words or really whatever each student wants as long as it is neat and the student can explain what is on it.
When it is your week, you will bring in your poster on Monday morning to be hung on our classroom wall. During that week, you will be sharing your poster with the class as we ask you questions. On Thursday of your week from 2:00-2:30 you will have show and tell. During your show and tell you may bring in anything that is school friendly.
You will have about 10 to 15 minutes to share so you may choose to bring in more than one item. If you are not sure if what you want to bring is “school friendly” please ask me.
