The mission of the Issaquah Valley Elementary School Library is to ensure that students and staff are effective users and creators of ideas and information. 
The Library Program supports this mission by:
 

• Teaching to the 'Library Scope and Sequence' to instill the love of reading, the enjoyment of the library experience and the pride of mastery of library use and research skills to inspire IVE students to become lifelong learners

• Supporting the mission, goals and objective of IVE's Continuous Improvement Plan.

• Providing library leadership, support, materials and resources for the curricular and educational goals of the classroom teacher.

• Providing library instructional help, materials, resources and activities for the educational and recreational needs of the students.

• Planning and collaborating with teachers to coordinate, when applicable, library instruction to enhance and support the classroom learning.

• Working with the Issaquah School District Staff, Issaquah School District's Librarians, King County Public Library Staff, local business leaders and community members to enhance the library program.
